ALTRUSA INTERNATIONAL OF MID-COLUMBIA

The Mid-Columbia club is based in southeastern Washington and supports the Tri-Cities and surrounding areas. Our club strives to make a real difference in our community. We undertake a variety of service, literacy, fundraising, and international projects each year.

Some of our rewarding projects this year include:

Fill the Gap - A food drive to provide kids with a box of non-perishable food items to keep them fed over winter break.
Cheers for Teachers - An event to celebrate teachers in our community.
Creating centerpieces each quarter for a homeless shelter.
Books to Belong - Providing new books for elementary students to take home to build their home libraries.
Filling new backpacks with all the necessary supplies for a successful school year.
Donating time one Saturday a month to open Threads of Haven, a free store for foster families to shop for new clothes and other essential items.
Making hand-written notes to welcome foster kids to a week long summer camp that reunites siblings separated by foster care.

Altrusa is an international non-profit organization focused on making our local community better through service.

We are a fun group of volunteers who want to make a difference. Our members are from varying occupations and lifestyles, all sharing an interest in community service and enjoying the friendship, fun, and satisfaction that comes from working together for the benefit of others.
